The
Drag2003™ is an all-new, state-of-the-art 1/4- and 1/8-mile vehicle dynamics
simulation for
Windows95/98/Me or Windows2000/XP from the
experts at Motion Software (check out
customer comments). With unprecedented speed and accuracy, the Drag2003
allows you to design and "assemble" any car, motorcycle or dragster. Then
evaluate its performance through every inch of a simulated drag race. Enter
any engine power curve, or test engines you've designed in the Dyno2003 (you
can even test a variety of jet and rocket power plants!). Evaluate gear
ratios, shift points, wind, weather, and much more. Instantly view ETs and
speeds using a Pop-Up TimeSlip™. Test and compare up to four vehicles
at once. Plus, you can use Motion's exclusive Iterative Testing™ to
run multiple tests and find the best setups for virtually any performance or
racing application, automatically!
Software
Overview:
The
Drag2003 performs a comprehensive simulation of the physics that act on a
vehicle as it accelerates from a standing start to terminal velocity 1/8- or
1/4-mile down the track. This comprehensive analysis predicts and displays
vehicle performance, inch-by-inch, throughout the entire race. The display
looks similar to a
professional data-acquisition system! You'll clearly see exact elapsed
times, speeds, rpms, and more for rollout, 60 feet, 330 feet, 660 feet
(1/8-mile), 1000 feet, and 1320 feet (1/4-mile). ETs and speeds can be
compared with up to four other vehicles to help you locate the best
component combinations. And you can do all this without spending a dime on
track testing!
User Interface And
Features:
The DragStrip2003 has a completely new user interface built from the
ground-up for Windows95/98/Me and Windows2003/XP. Our eye-popping “XP” look
is even easier to use with QuickAccess™ buttons and DirectClick™
menus that let you change parts simply by clicking on any component shown on
screen. Nothing could be easier! Analyze engine
RPM, Clutch RPM, Acceleration, Tire Slip, Aero Drag, and more,
then view the results in full-color graphics. All data and graphs can be
printed (and previewed) in color on any Windows printer. You can even model
several vehicles at once; just click on a Vehicle Selection Tab to
focus on any vehicle you choose.
Even though
this program is very sophisticated, the
Drag2003 will never
overwhelm you with data. An easy-to-read, Pop-Up TimeSlip™ provides
an instant summary of the performance potential of any vehicle. A quick
glance will help you make judgments about gear ratios, shift points, vehicle
weight, and it can even help you evaluate traction and wheelspin. Similar in
appearance to the paper time slip delivered to racers at the end of a run,
you'll find Motion's Pop-Up TimeSlip™ a helpful, at-a-glance feature.
The
DragStrip2003 also incorporates exclusive technology that helps you find
optimum combinations for any vehicle faster and easier than ever before.
QuickIterator™ Testing, available only from Motion Software, allows the
Drag2003 "home in" on the best parts combinations for you, automatically!
Click just one button and the Drag2003
perform hundreds, thousands, or even millions of tests!
The
QuickIterator™ keeps
track of all the results, and display the best combination for you to review.
Find the setup that delivers the quickest ET or the fastest MPH for any
street or racing application.
New ProTools™ Kit:
While all essential features are
included in the Advanced version of the Drag2003, professional builders and
serious enthusiasts need all the modeling power they can get. The optional
ProTools™ Kit extends the functionality of many Drag2003 features.
It includes the ProIterator™ for
fully customizable testing, DataZones™ to give you the most graphing
and data analysis power possible, ProData™ that includes a new table
of extended vehicle performance data, and ProPrinting™ that prints
out a comprehensive test report that can include your name, address, company
logo, glossaries, and all ProData™ values. If you're serious about
drag racing analysis, consider a ProTools™ addition to the Drag2003.
See Order Form
for pricing info.
Technical:
This
sophisticated simulation simulates the complex physics involved in 1/8- and
1/4-mile drag racing, including the incredible range of forces that act on
automobiles, dragsters, or motorcycles at the starting
line. But you can leave your physics books on the shelf, because the
DragStrip2003 is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Pop-up menus allow you to enter any
engine power curve (also reads Dyno2003 engine files). You can even test jet
or rocket power plants! Then choose vehicle components from simple drop-down
menus or enter custom specs for automatic or manual transmissions, torque
converter stall-speed, launch rpm, shift rpms, up to six transmission gears
with virtually any gear ratios, rear-axle ratios, vehicle weight, wheelbase,
front- or rear-wheel drive, frontal area, aero drag, tire width, rollout
distance, ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed, and more! Internal
"watchdogs" eliminate conflicting choices (like an rpm redline rpm set lower
than a shift rpm, etc.), ensuring accurate performance predictions.
Users Manual:
The DragStrip2003 is supplied with a full-color,
100-page, on-disk Users Manual (directly accessible from within the Drag2003
program) that details the features of this comprehensive simulation. If you
wish, you can download a copy of this manual to preview the capabilities of
this software before you buy! Jump to our
Support Page
to download the Drag2003 manual (and, if necessary, Adobe Reader to view the
manual on your PC).
Requirements:
The
DragStrip2003 runs on any Windows95/98/Me or Windows2003/XP equipped
IBM-compatible PC. A basic VGA video system is required (minimum 640 x 480;
1024 x 768 or greater is recommended).
A Windows-compatible printer
required for test reports.
A CD-ROM is also required. A complete Drag2003
install requires approximately 120MBytes of disk space.
