Winner: James Baughan Age: 42 Resides: Forest Park, GA Profession: Autobody Repair Technician James Baughan got an early start in high performance when he completed a buildup on his first engine at eleven years of age. James is currently involved in setting up a '70 Camaro for the FootBrake class. His Suburban tow vehicle, a rebuild project he completed about 8 years ago, is shown here in a "checkout" run. James will use the Jomar Stud Girdle he won on a 350 to be installed in his Camaro. |

Winner: David Chavez Age: 48 Resides: Cedar Park, TX Profession: Master Mechanic, Toyota Master, Lexus Master David has been building race cars and boats for 35 years. He owned and restored many vehicles, including three Corvettes (a 1966, 1969, and a 1973), a 1970 El Camino, 1967 and 1969 Camaros, and a 1970 Chevelle. After twisting wrenches on cars for may years, David is applying his skills to offshore racing. He owns a Baja 220 Sport powered by a 383 Smallblock Chevy that has been thoroughly modified and dyno tested at 497hp. David used Motion Software engine simulations to help him select parts for this buildup, and the predicted power came in within 7hp of actual dyno test results. |

Because of Iraqi Freedom my tour went from 90 days to 7-1/2 months. I work
in Ground Radio Communications that primarily involves maintaining equipment
used by air traffic controllers to direct and control the movement and
flight of aircraft.
