Prize: MSD Heli-Core 8mm Plug Wires

This month's prize is a set of MSD Heli-Core 8mm wires for any V8, 6, or 4-cylinder engine. Heli-Core wires feature a stainless- steel conductor wound around a special glass core,  keeping Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) to a minimum. Value over $60.

Winner: John Foster

Age: 50

Resides: Johnson City, NY

Profession: Electronics Technician

John was always interested in performance, but after a 30 year sojourn to raise a family, he's returned to his lifelong love. In the 70's John rebuilt a 1967 Buick Grand Sport, and over the last three years he's been rebuilding TWO 1971 Chevelle SS's. Both cars have bigblocks; one is an automatic and the other a 4-speed. Both are daily drivers with occasional participation in street "contests." John says the restorations are never-ending projects, but he relishes each minute with his hobby and considers it great fun! The MSD wires are slated for use on one of his Chevelles, of course.

Winner: Ernie Baier

Age: 36

Resides: Delta, CO

Profession: Facilty Manager

Ernie has been involved in racing and performance for 25 years. He has worked on numerous projects; his favorites are a 1967 Mustang Fastback and his current 1971 Maverick that he purchased for $100 (it ran a 21.80 1/4-mile). He and his family not only race the Maverick (it now runs 12.94 with mufflers and street tires) but also cruise his hometown Colorado streets. His wife and five kids are his pit crew, moral support, and cheerleaders at the race track! During time trials, he straps helmets and safety belts on his older kids and takes them for rides down the 1/4-mile. His Maverick is truly a family project, with his brothers and cousins pitching in on the restoration and modifications. Ernie plans on using his new Holley either on the Maverick or on his 427 Mustang.
